We are looking for a top performer with entrepreneurial spirit and ambition to play a key role in driving the growth of Placeit. The candidate should be excited to work with exceptional colleagues around the globe to accelerate awareness and product sales. The Email & Customer Communications Manager is responsible for leading the team that creates relevant and timely communications and content for both existing and future customers. This role will do this by leading the team that builds a variety of communication programs to keep users informed and engaged with the dual goals of acquiring new customers and increasing customer retention.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the team involved in the conception, creation, editing, approval, and delivery of customer communications
  • Lead analysis on communications performance and recommends and implements action items, new tests, and any areas of opportunity for advanced segmenting
  • Identify and implement initiatives to drive the growth and health of our email list by partnering with other teams to increase the number of e-mailable addresses and identify data capture opportunities
  • Execute communications plans with a detailed understanding of project’s objectives, value, and priorities
  • Build and maintain current knowledge of Placeit’s products, features and services
  • Participate in release planning, product launches, and organisational readiness meetings and activities
  • Recommend new approaches for customer communication, including new messaging, new email templates, or strategic changes to delivery methods
  • Lead Drip Marketing strategy through our customer communication channels (email marketing, on-site messaging, in-app notifications, SMS, etc.)
  • Guide team’s approach to writing communications through appropriate voice and personas
  • Tracking and reporting of campaign results in order to guide improvementsDevelop your of team of marketers and ensure their continued development and growth within the organisation
  • Communicate regularly with our third party vendors involved in the customer communications stack like Iterable and Amplitude


Required Technical Skills/Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience managing others
  • 5+ years experience with email/digital messaging, including leading acquisition & retention strategies, and customer-centric personalisation.
  • Knowledge of email automation and customer relationship management (CRM) systems
  • Solid understanding of the customer lifecycle for ecommerce and subscription business
  • Copywriting experience. Writing, editing, and proofreading skills are essential.
  • Experience with an ESP and/or marketing automation system is required
  • Excellent English in both written and verbal communication
  • Experience designing and implementing A/B and multivariate tests
  • Working knowledge of common email marketing rules, audience segmentation, automation and integration
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and can execute complex tasks with minimal oversight
  • Experience in analysing and gathering insights from email performance data, and familiarity with Google Analytics, Tableau, Amplitude and/or BigQuery a plus
