About the role

Zest is one of the UKโ€™s fastest growing Electric Vehicle (EV) charging operators. We fund, design and operate solutions for landowners, brands and communities, backed by the government-sponsored Charging Infrastructure Investment Fund. Our open access charge points help tackle climate change, boost local economic growth, and help make EV a realistic option for everyone in society.

The Marketing Director will work with the CMO and is responsible for the companyโ€™s marketing and communications strategies. These include preparing marketing plans, creating a calendar of campaigns and events, managing the marketing budget and analysing the market and competitors. This role guides and inspires the marketing department, including the work of marketing managers and executives.

 

Key Accountabilities:

The role is responsible for the following:

  • Work with the CMO to develop, plan and manage marketing strategies in line with achieving our wider company goals
  • Designing and implementing effective marketing campaigns to bring the marketing strategy alive.
  • Utilise key metrics to evaluate strategy success
  • Analyse the marketing strategy, suggest and make improvements as required to achieve our company objectives
  • Represent Zest as a media spokesperson
  • Present proposals and results to other departments and the management team
  • Build relationships with suppliers, partner organisations, public and local authorities, contractors, and other parties
  • Ensure all company marketing materials and literature in various media is produced to maintain a coherent and consistent brand image and presence
  • Develop new marketing initiatives such as social media, events, collaborations etc to strengthen engagement with target audiences
  • Monitor marketing trends, analysis of market activities to identify further opportunities
  • Liaise with internal and external teams to ensure tasks are completed and campaigns delivered on time
  • Lead, develop and support the Marketing team in line with our company values and ethos
  • Plus any other duties as required by the leadership team

  • Create and run a series of marketing campaigns that generate awareness, increase strategic value and cultivate sales engagement
  • Show results against metric indicators where available, and provide evidence of success in relation to competitors
  • Build a confident, efficient and resilient marketing team that is prepared for growth

  • Internal โ€“ Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Executive Officer, the Leadership team, Marketing team, Chief Development Officer
  • External โ€“ Key external partners, external agencies, local authorities, external publications

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Five yearsโ€™ experience in a similar role within a marketing team
  • Track record of devising and implementing effective marketing strategies
  • Track record of leading successful teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to produce and present meaningful and impactful reports and presentations that aid commercial decision making
  • B2B B2C marketing experience
  • Experience of managing social campaigns across digital, experiential and social platforms
  • Experience of using marketing software, CRM, tools, and apps
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills
  • Experience of working with big data analysis

Qualifications:

  • Ideally degree level qualified (or equivalent)
  • Marketing or business qualification preferred
