As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Placeit, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our digital products. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, optimize, and maintain front-end applications using cutting-edge technologies. Your expertise in JavaScript, Next.js, frontend build systems, and single-page applications (SPAs) will be essential in driving the quality and performance of our web applications.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design and backend teams to implement responsive, user-friendly web interfaces.
  • Develop and optimize frontend applications using JavaScript and Next.js to ensure smooth user experiences.
  • Act as a senior leader within our Frontend Engineering chapter
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality and consistency.
  • Work with modern frontend build systems and tools to streamline the development process.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and implement responsive designs that work across various devices.
  • Collaborate with inner-team and cross-functional teams to drive effective development processes.
  • Participate in the selection and implementation of which new technologies will be adopted at Placeit
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging frontend technologies and best practices, sharing knowledge within the team.


Required Technical Skills/Experience

  • Excellent English in both written and verbal communication
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in frontend development, with a focus on JavaScript and Next.js
  • Proven track record of developing responsive, highly performant web applications.
  • Strong understanding of frontend build systems, tools, and SPAs.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and CSS preprocessors (e.g., Sass, Less).
  • Experience with code versioning tools such as Git.
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex frontend issues.
  • Inner-team and cross-team collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.


Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with backend technologies and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with other frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
  • Previous contributions to open-source projects or personal coding projects.
  • Experience leading small software engineering teams
  • Mobile cross-platform frameworks (i.e. Flutter)
